Alex's Snow Day Party

I LOVE nothing more than a fun and unique party theme and that is just what Alex's parents, Chuck & Jill, dreamed up for their son's 3rd Birthday Party!

A SNOW DAY Party!

When they discussed this idea with me, I was nearly jumping up and down! Yes, I do get that excited over party themes.

Images of SNOWFLAKES, TOBOGGANS and MITTENS were swirling in my mind!

I worked with Chuck & Jill on the details of the party through our Party Consultation, which included ideas from cake design to activities and everything in between! I knew they would nail it! They have amazing taste and an eye for great design! I had no doubt, with their talent, this party would be a hit!

Jill chose the palate of RED & LIGHT BLUE as the color scheme....one of my very favorite color combos!

The invitations were designed by The Purple Pug. LOVE the red glittery mittens!! They were even better than I had imagined!

Welcome to Alex's Snow Day!

The party was held outdoors in December and we were praying for coooold weather! The hope was to have cold enough temperatures to make 'snow' with one of the snow making machines you hook up to your water hose. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans....for it to be warmer than it had been in over a week the day of the party and then snow the next day! No snow, but actually perfect temps for a nice December outdoor shindig!

The food table was complete with all things yummy and white! Rice Krispy 'snow' balls, Snowflake shaped white chocolate covered pretzels, powdered donuts, white chocolate peppermint bark, white cheddar cheese balls, snowflake and mitten shaped cookies...the list goes on!

These fantastic custom Kandy Kones from the one and only Superchick, Genevieve, at Celebrate Today were filled with red & light blue M&M's!

The Hot Chocolate Bar was very enticing...Old Fashion Homemade Hot Cocoa and an assortment of savory add-in's such as white chocolate shavings, peppermint candy crunches, milk chocolate crumbles, syrups, fresh whipped cream and more. Delicious and fun!

Both tables were adorned with our Custom TableTop Drops!

Not a Hot Chocolate person? No problem! The signature drink served was a refreshing Snow Punch!
The recipe is as follows:

Snow Punch

* Recipe Makes 12 servings

Ingredients
10 bananas
3-1/3 cups half-and-half cream
1-2/3 cups lemon juice
1-2/3 cups white sugar
3-1/4 liters lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
3-1/3 cups lemon sherbet
Directions
This recipe's Ingredients were scaled to yield a new amount. The directions
below still refer to the original recipe yield of 12 servings.
In a blender combine bananas, half-and-half, lemon juice and sugar. Bend until
smooth.
Pour the banana mixture into a large punch bowl. Gently stir in the carbonated
beverage. Scoop out sherbet and float on top. Serve immediately.

Alex enjoying his Snow Punch!

The kids had such a great time playing games and making crafts!

Snow Ball Toss!

Even the littlest of guests enjoyed the game...

The kids decorated ornaments and made marshmellow snowmen on sticks!

Marshmellow Snowmen...yumm!

And then it was time for CAKE!! I love simple cakes that focus on the main party motif! Piece-A-Cake did a great job executing the design!

My favorite part of the party was when we sang 'Happy Birthday' to Alex. He sang right along, with feeling, at the top of his lungs and clapped for himself like there was no tomorrow! It was so cheerful and sweet, you couldn't help but laugh and smile! A very sweet memory, indeed!

The furry friends even come bundled up for a fun snow day!

As the Snow Day come to an end, guest were given goodie bags filled with snow themed treats and toys!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Alex!

Thanks for letting us be a part of your special day!!
